Connecticut has 72 federally-designated Opportunity Zones in urban areas and suburban centers located throughout the state. These Opportunity Zones are closely aligned with the state's priorities and investments. This DECD conference will highlight state and municipal efforts to support Opportunity Zones through coordinated investments and regulatory streamlining. Join investors, developers, content experts and local leaders to learn about Opportunity Zones across Connecticut and stay at the forefront of this booming industry.

Who should go:

  • Real estate developers and property/business owners located or interested in locating to an Opportunity Zone
  • Fund managers/investors
  • Economic development professionals
  • Attorneys, accounting professionals and related consultants

What you will learn:

  • How communities can attract investors
  • How to become Opportunity Zone compliant
  • How to save on your taxes by investing in Opportunity Zones
  • How operating businesses will be able to take advantage of Opportunity Zone benefits
  • What to look for when investing your capital gains
  • What red flags investors should look out for in Opportunity Zone investments

The conference will include panels, interactive discussions and networking designed to educate stakeholders about the inner-working of Opportunity Zones in Connecticut. The marketplace will expose potential partners to some of Connecticut's best investment opportunities. Attendees will gain insight on how communities can develop public-private strategies, learn about existing state legislation, understand business opportunities, and leverage local assets and resources.
